Louisa Harding La Salute & La Salute Quattro

*New* This is a beautiful Italian kid mohair knitting yarn by Louisa Harding in an irresistable collection of petal like soft colourways. Some shades are single colours and the Quattro range is the variegated version, but I have listed them together so you get the full range.
image of Louisa Harding La Salute & La Salute Quattro
  • 79% Kid Mohair and 21% Nylon.
  • The ballband suggests two tension of 4mm needles with a tension of 20 stitches and 28 rows over a 10cm square and 6mm needles with 14 stitches and 20 rows. 105m per ball. This means you can knit the yarn to a chunky pattern or a finer pattern and will either create a dense, cosy fabric or a light, airy fabric from the same yarn.
  • Gentle hand wash, can be dry cleaned, do not tumble dry, cool iron.
  • Kid mohair is such a popular yarn at the moment as it has a really long meterage per ball, so goes a very long way and is light and soft to the touch. Perfect for scarves and shawls, cardigans and sweaters.

Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo

This is another gorgeous bamboo yarn from Sirdar, aimed primarily at babies, but the colours are so lovely it would also be perfect for children and adults knitting as double knitting. Four lovely *new* colours have just arrived!
image of Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo
  • 80% Bamboo and 20% Wool - machine wash at 40, do not iron or tumble dry, may be dry-cleaned.
  • 22 stitches and 28 rows will give a 10cm tension square on 4mm needles. Knit as DK - 95m per ball.
  • The colour range is soft and muted in ten contemporary shades making it perfect for light spring knitwear and is soft enough to be worn next to delicate skins. (I have made up colour names until I receive an official shade card from Sirdar!!)
  • The twist of the yarn has a lovely sheen which will give definition to cables and ribs or use combinations of colours for stripes and Fairisle. This is a beautiful yarn and the machine washability means it is also practical and I can't wait to start knitting it!!

Sirdar Just Bamboo

This is a yarn which is exactly what it says on the tin - just bamboo. It's hard to believe that such a lovely and soft ribbon yarn could be made purely from bamboo, but it is! Two lovely *new* colours have just been added.
image of Sirdar Just Bamboo
  • 100% Bamboo - machine wash at 40, do not iron or tumble dry.
  • The ribbon is tubular and 3mm wide. Knit to a tension of 19 stitches and 25 rows to give a 10cm square on 5.5mm needles - 95m per ball.
  • The colour range is soft and muted in eight contemporary shades making it perfect for light spring knitwear.
  • The patterns to accompany Just Bamboo are cool and classic and show how well the yarn drapes once knitted. This is going to be the big hit of the season - and made from a natural fibre too - perfect!

Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK

Fabulous *new* shades have just been added to the range. We now have some of these in stock and the rest should be arriving very soon. Sublime means..."of the highest or noblest nature" and I think that just about sums up this yarn. It is soft and smooth and perfect for luxurious knitwear for adults and babies as it can be worn next to even the most sensitive of skins.
image of Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK
  • 75% extra fine merino, 20% silk, 5% cashmere - made in Italy. Cool hand wash, do not tumble dry.
  • Knit as approx DK - 116m per ball. 22 stitches and 28 rows will give a 10cm tension square on 4mm needles.
  • The manufacturers have created two ranges of this yarn - one for babies and one for non-babies!! However the yarn is exactly the same - so white is exactly the same in both ranges, except the balls band are different (so don't be put off if you are knitting for a 40 year old and the ball band says "baby"!) So what we have done is combine the colours so you can select from the full range - so a baby can wear black and an adult can wear peach!
  • The yarn has a lovely spiral type crepe twist which was all the rage at the trade show, but we think that this is the best and it has a wonderful range of patterns to compliment it.

Louisa Harding Kimono Angora

This is a really gorgeous multi coloured angora yarn by Louisa Harding in some beautiful, girlie colour combinations perfect for knitting into sumptuous and furry garments and accessories.
image of Louisa Harding Kimono Angora
  • 70% Angora, 25% Wool and 5% Nylon.
  • The ballband suggests you knit on 4mm needles with a tension of 22 stitches and 30 rows over a 10cm square. 114m per ball.
  • Gentle hand wash, can be dry cleaned, do not tumble dry, cool iron.
  • Even though this is quite an expensive yarn the nature of angora means you get an awful lot of metres to a ball so it goes a remarkably long way. Some of the patterns in the corresponding books need 500g of a standard DK, but just 250g of angora, so you can get a really luxurious garment for a fantasic price. Or what about some gorgeous gloves or a little hat where you just need one ball?
